Situation in the Netherlands remains concerning

In the week from 10 to 16 March, 39,527 people received a positive test result for COVID-19, nearly 25% more than in the week before that. The reproduction number completely above 1 this week.

Vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccine temporarily on hold

The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) has decided to temporarily stop vaccinating with the COVID-19 vaccine made by AstraZeneca, effective immediately.

First invitations for people aged 75-79 years arriving Saturday

Starting tomorrow, the first people in the age group from 75-79 years will receive an invitation from RIVM for a COVID-19 vaccination. These people were born in the years from 1941 through 1946.

The number of people who were tested for SARS-CoV-2 increased by 20% last week. The number of people who tested positive rose by 7%. The reproduction number also rose above 1.

Care workers in district nursing invited for COVID-19 vaccination

Starting today, care workers in the district nursing sector can make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination through the national GGD call centre. They will receive an invitation through their employers.

First figures on COVID-19 vaccination coverage available

From this week on, RIVM will start releasing updates on vaccination coverage in the first groups to be vaccinated in the Netherlands. The percentage of people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 is known for three groups of elderly people.
