The monitoring data in KAP are visualised on an aggregated level when it concerns the public reports. In the private reports, more detailed information is available, for example, all individual measurements can be visualised. Below you can download the guidance documents for navigating through the public or private reports:

KAP-data visualisation (Public)

The public reports contain overviews based on aggregated data. The data are presented in figures and tables and provide an overview of:

  • the number of samples taken for each product;
  • samples above a legal limit (% > M(R)L);
  • samples between a legal limit and the Level of Quantification (LOQ) (% ≥ LOQ ≤ M(R)L);
  • samples below the LOQ (% < LOQ); and
  • whether the product originates from the Netherlands, European Union or was imported from outside the European Union.

Some tips when using the reports:

  • The public reports consist of two sections: section 1 contains tabulated data and section 2 contains an interactive figure. You can switch between the two sections by clicking on the arrows in the lower middle of the report.
  • To maximise the screen you can click on the "open in full-screen mode"-icon in the lower right corner of the report.
  • You can filter the data by selecting the filter options in the top of your screen.
  • For the tabulated data (section 1) it is necessary to always select the first (mandatory) filter option "SUBSTANCE SUPERGROUP" if you want to see results.
  • For the interactive figure (section 2) you must select at least the first three (mandatory) filter options to see results. The reports will show a warning message (in red) if you have not selected the mandatory filter options.
  • For the interactive figure you can click the "+"-sign to zoom in and the "-"-sign to zoom out.
  • It is also possible to drag the interactive figure around on your screen by holding left click on your mouse and move around in case you want to view different parts of the interactive figure.
  • Also it is possible to pop out the figure in a separate window.
  • In the interactive figure each sphere represents a different food product from the food group that is selected via the filter option. By selecting a food group the interactive figure will show all the spheres (products) that are present in that group and for which samples were analysed.
  • In the sphere the name of the food product is shown and the number of samples that were analysed for that food product.
  • The bigger the sphere, the higher the number of samples that were analysed for a food product.
  • After you have filtered the data (you must have made at least one selection in the first three filter options), you see the results appearing on the left side in a table with the corresponding food product, the number of samples below the LOQ, number of samples between the LOQ and the legal limit (M(R)L), and the number of samples above the legal limit (M(R)L).

Currently, data on pesticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins and veterinary medicine product residues (VMPR) are shown in the reports. More data regarding other contaminants will be added in the near future. In addition, for all substances, new data will be added on a yearly basis, while removing the oldest year. Thus, for each substance group, the last five available years can be retrieved via the reports. Two separate reports are now available: one for chemical contaminants in food and one for VMPR.

Below the disclaimer you will find the public reports, which can be used to create overviews of the data.

Please consult the Guidance document (PDF) if you wish to learn more about how to navigate through the reports. It also contains more information on the data behind the figures and tables. The Guidance document can be downloaded at the top of the web page.

Disclaimer: RIVM cannot be hold responsible for the wrongful interpretation and usage of the data.

The private reports contain both overviews based on aggregated data and overviews containing all individual measurements. For general information on how to use the reports and useful tips, see the description of the public reports (above the private report section).

Some tips when using the private reports:

  • The reports contains four sections.
  • There are three sections with tabulated data (section 2-4) and one section with an interactive figure (section 1).
  • You can switch between sections by clicking on the arrows in the lower middle of the report.
