Girl in waiting room after COVID-19 vaccination

As of today, the first teens born in 2008 can make an appointment for COVID-19 vaccination by the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs). The appointment can be scheduled by phone or via www.coronavaccinatie-afspraak.nl. They will receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine from the GGD. The invitations will be delivered from Thursday 15 July on. In total, there are over 192,360 people born in 2008.

At the end of June, the Health Council advised that all young people between the ages of 12 and 17 be vaccinated against COVID-19. Over the course of the next few weeks, everyone born before 30 June 2009 will receive an invitation. Young people in medical risk groups have already been invited.

Consent for vaccination of minors

Teens aged 16 and older can decide on their own whether to be vaccinated, while young people between the ages of 12 and 15 years decide together with their parents.

They and their parents can find more information on vaccination and the vaccine for young people (in Dutch) at www.coronavaccinatie.nl/jongeren.
