Last week*, 242,961 positive COVID-19 tests were reported to RIVM**. That is an increase of 21% compared to the week before that.

Middle-aged women have a better memory than men. They also process information faster than men. In the years that follow, however, both cognitive functions decline faster in women. This has been shown by research conducted by RIVM and VU Amsterdam.

Starting on 18 January 2022, parents of children aged 5-11 years will receive a letter with information about COVID-19 vaccination for their child or children.

201,536 positive COVID-19 tests were reported to RIVM last week. That is an increase of 77% compared to the previous week. Such high numbers of reported infections within just one week have never been seen before in the Netherlands.

In the past week*, the number of reported positive COVID-19 tests increased by 35% compared to the week before that. The number of people tested by the GGD was about the same.

People born in 2003 can now schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 booster vaccination by the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs). This can only be done online. The booster vaccination can be scheduled from 3 months after recovery from COVID-19.
