People born in 1941 can now schedule an appointment online for a COVID-19 booster vaccination by the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs). You can make the appointment via www.coronavaccinatie-afspraak.nl. If you make the appointment online, you do not need to wait for the invitation letter. If you prefer to make an appointment by telephone, you will need to wait for the letter.
GGD GHOR Nederland is asking people to make an appointment via the digital portal as much as possible. This is faster and prevents the call centre from becoming overloaded. If you do not feel confident about your digital skills, you can ask your family, neighbours or friends to help. The library can also help you.
People born before 1941 have already been invited to make an appointment. They are also requested to use the online option wherever possible.
When to get the booster
The booster vaccination can be scheduled 6 months after the last COVID-19 vaccination. If you tested positive for COVID-19 since your last vaccination, you have to wait 6 months after having COVID-19. It is not possible to schedule the appointment any earlier. The CoronaCheck app states the date of your last vaccination.
People who are unable to travel to a GGD vaccination site on their own or with assistance do not have to do anything at this time. They will receive an additional notice for vaccination at home.
mRNA vaccines
The booster dose will be administered with mRNA vaccines (Moderna or Pfizer). It does not matter which vaccine was received before. It is not possible to choose which vaccine.
