On Thursday 11 April 2019, RIVM welcomed a delegation from Public Health England (PHE). Chief Executive Duncan Selbie of PHE headed the delegation. Also present were the deputy CEO, two directors, two heads of department and a partnerships manager from PHE. The delegation was pleased to learn more about RIVM's work and the existing collaborations between RIVM and PHE.
Director-General Hans Brug welcomed the visitors to RIVM. RIVM colleagues joined the meeting to elaborate on their activities. There was much recognition in the challenges the two public health institutes face.
In addition to the well-known, successful collaborations that RIVM and PHE already have with each other, the parties explored whether we can also work together on additional topics such as radiation protection, climate change and health, antibiotic resistance and cost-effective interventions. Public Health England, as RIVM, will be moving to new premises. It was very useful to exchange experiences on the preparations for the relocation of laboratories.
