When an environmental or a natural disaster occurs with implications for public health and environment, the effects can be severe.
That’s why national authorities and response organizations need to assess the consequences.
To do so, they sometimes need specific knowledge or capacity.
That’s where the Environmental Assessment Unit comes in, or EAU.

Once the request is approved, the team can be rapidly deployed.
