Samenvatting
Het RIVM controleert achtmaal per jaar de metingen van de voormalige kernenergiecentrale Dodewaard. Het gaat hierbij om lozingen van radioactiviteit in ventilatielucht. De contra-expertise onderbouwt de betrouwbaarheid van de analyses die de kernenergiecentrale uitvoert. Doorgaans komen de analyses overeen, zo ook in de periode 2007 - 2010. RIVM en de kernenergiecentrale vonden geen gamma-stralers in ventilatielucht. De kernenergiecentrale is sinds 1997 buiten bedrijf en is in juli 2005 in de fase Veilige Insluiting overgegaan. Het voornemen is om de kernenergiecentrale over veertig jaar, als de radioactiviteit sterk is afgenomen, te ontmantelen. RIVM heeft in de periode 2007 - 2010 jaarlijks acht monsters van ventilatielucht geanalyseerd op gamma activiteit, die verspreid over het jaar zijn genomen. Tevens is er in monsters van ventilatielucht de activiteit van 3H en 14C bepaald. Er is door RIVM geen gamma-activiteit, geen 14C activiteit en slechts een zeer geringe 3H activiteit aangetroffen. Hoogstwaarschijnlijk zijn deze 3H sporen afkomstig uit de poriën van het gebouw zelf. Er is geen afvalwater geloosd in de periode 2007 - 2010. Opdrachtgever is de Kernfysische Dienst van het ministerie van VROM.
Abstract
Within the framework of a monitoring programme, the RIVM measures the release of radioactivity into atmosphere of the former nuclear power plant at Dodewaard. Dodewaard was closed down in 1997, and since July 2005 it is considered to be in the phase of Safe Enclosure. The intention is to dismantle the plant after 40 years by which time the radioactivity will have decreased considerably. Measurements are carried out eight times per year. This form of counterexpertise is aimed at verifying and supporting the reliability of the analyses carried out by the nuclear power plant at Dodewaard. The two different sets of measurements are mostly in agreement. The measurements of both RIVM and the Dodewaard nuclear plant demonstrated the absence of gamma-emitters in the ventilation air.
In the period 2007 - 2010, RIVM analyzed eight samples of ventilation air for gammaspectrometric analysis at various time points throughout each year. Also in eight samples of ventilation air the 3H and 14C activity was determined. RIVM found no gamma activity, no 14C activity and only minute traces of 3H in ventilation air. This 3H most likely originates from the pores of the building. There was no discharge of waste water in the period 2007 - 2010.
The analyses were carried out on behalf of the Department of Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards of the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM).
