About RIVM

RIVM has some thirty separate units (laboratories, teams and centres), each of which focuses on a specific area of research. The units are grouped into four divisions, each of which has its own director. RIVM has a total of approximately 1,500 staff.

Staff

There are 1570 employees (1349 FTE) on the RIVM payroll (at year-end 2010). Of these, 49% are female. A total of 285 women employees (36%) are in graduate or higher positions, compared to 46% of men. The staff includes 23 professors. The average age of RIVM employees is 46 and the average length of service is 12 years.

The absenteeism (sick leave) rate in 2010 was 3.6%, i.e. 0.6% below the upper target level of 4.2%.

A staff satisfaction survey returned an overall score of 7.2 (out of 10)
