Scientific research forms the basis for all the work carried out by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). RIVM carries out high-quality, authoritative research in the fields that it regards as strategically significant.
An active, vital national and international network of fellow institutes and (university) research institutes is important for this. We promote this collaboration in various ways, one of which is via personal commitments in the form of part-time professorships and double appointments.
